Hi

I've got two goldfish who are getting too big for my 35 litre tank so I'm looking to upgrade and get a bigger tank. I went into Pets at Home today and saw the Marina Style 95 litre tank (http://www.seapets.co.uk/products/aquarium-supplies/aquariums/fluval/elite-and-marina-fun-aquariums/marina-style-glass-aquarium-tropical-set-95-litre-and-cabinet-complete.html) which size/dimensions (80 x 30 x 40cm (31.5" x 11.8" x 15.7") would be perfect but it feels and looks a bit cheap/plasticy. Do you have any recommendations on what aquarium I should get? I've also seen the Juwel Rekord 800 Aquarium on the internet but not in person (http://www.seapets.co.uk/products/aquarium-supplies/aquariums/juwel/juwel-rekord-aquariums/juwel-rekord-800-aquarium.html#reviews). It's going to be kept in the living room so ideally one which looks good and isn't too noisy as well as being of good quality would be ideal!

Any recommendations would be most gratefully received.

Many thanks in advance.

Richard

Well to start with the 3 goldfish need minimum of 50 gallons of water. Not sure how big you are looking for. But that is the minimum.

look on ebay, i got a 190ltr aqua one tank as here My link

for £190 and it came with water testing kits, bogwood, water treatments etc

i would get the biggest you can if i was you or in a short time you will be looking for an even bigger one

Thanks for your email - there are only two fish and they are pretty small - about 6cm long but I appreciate they will grow. I'm looking for something 90-110 litres ideally. Once they get too big for that I'll give them to my parents who have a much bigger tank.

I have just bought a Juwel Rekord 800. Not bad, paid £129 brand new, happy with it so far, got it from here http://www.waysideaquatics.co.uk/
My first tank a few months back was a second hand Juwel Rio 180. Paid £131 for it, got a Fluval U4 (2 months old) a heater, gravel, and some Salvinia thrown in. As long as the seller is honest, you really can't go wrong with Ebay mate

Many thanks Stuart - much appreciated. Does the Juwel Rekord 800 look or feel cheap/plasticy at all? I've not seen it in person. Also is it fairly quiet?

Very quiet, The top/lid is about as good as a plastic one can feel imo. Something I was really pleased with is the Juwel black bark backgrounds (about £15 each) I bought two, used 1 and a half for the back of the tank and used the half left over to silicon to the filter and heater set up (cutting out gaps for the spout and vents)
