Tank Planning

Hi I recently moved and starting my tank up again as my small loaches didn't make it. I currently hAve a Pearl gourami really left as I'll be removing my guppies to another tank. As I have a 55g tank I want to get a albino rainbow shark but can't seem to figure out what gets along with both a Pearl gourami and a rainbow shark. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the start of a nice Asian biotope to me Some nice barbs like Cherry Barbs and Black Ruby Barbs would sit nice with them maybe a small species of Half Beak for the surface and some mid sized loaches like Polkadot Loaches for the bottom
 
Maybe a stock list like
 
3 Pearl Gourami - 1m 2f
8 Black Ruby Barbs
9 Cherry Barbs  - more males than females, males are red females are coppery
5 Polkadot Loaches
1 Rainbow Shark

Also forgot my girlfriend added a Chinese algae eater we got off a friend. I'm assuming that has to go for a rainbow shark to be introduced?

And them loaches would do fine in a 55g tank?
