Well after many problems with the tank, gravel not washed properly, not enough funds to suppport the new tank, and problems with drift wood i have finally got it filled and semi planted and CLEAR =)

What do you think, driftwood is justt soaking in the back sink to get rid of the tannins than ill add it in, and hopefully fish will go in saturday =)

Have you cycled the tank or are you using mature filter media from another tank? It looks good so far, alot more plants i the back would defiantly add the to looks too. Do you have any plans for bottom feeders (Cory/Loach/Plec)? If the gravel is to rough it may harm them.

ya been cycling for a week, water is fine, filter was runnning on smaller tank for two weeks, so the filter is mature, so its all cool, ya the whole left hand side of the tank is gonna be a foresstt! =) im into the tank looking good for my fish so hopefully everything will turn out.,

Do you have a test kit? How do you know the tank's cycled?

Running a filter in a mature tank allows bacteria to grow on the new filter. Weather or not a week is enough time for this to handle a new bio load is questionable though. My suggestion is to add 5ppm of ammonia to the new tank running the "mature media" and see how fast it processes it. This is the best way to know for sure if its cycled. Another option is to clone the other tank by taking half of media and placing it in the new tank which provides enough to lightly stock the new tank.

Itmatters not whether the media was mature, or cycled or anything, if you are not now still 'feeding' the filter with ammonia every day until you add your fish then the filter will 'un-cycle' itself in no time at all....

Yes, unlikely that 2 weeks in the smaller tank will have had much effect (even presuming there were fish in it).
When you say you've been cycling for a week, what exactly have you done to be cycling? As Schmill says, if it's just been running in an empty tank for a week, it won't be cycled and ready for fish. I like mwood's suggestion of seeing how fast it processes 5ppm of ammonia
