Hey, i was wondering what everyones theme (if you have one) was in your tank(s).
I currently have a underwater theme (how suited), it consists of 1 ship reck, 1 divers helmet, and 1 barrel.
I have started to dislike it though, and i would like to change my theme.. I saw one person who had a Egyptian theme which i loved, but i have a black gravel and i dont think i want to change all my gravel too.
Anyone got some ideas i could use? Whats your themes? And if anyone could recomend some websites to buy decrative ornements from i would appreciate it.
Thanks.

If you want a range of decorations to choose from, go to:

http://home-garden.search.ebay.co.uk/_Deco...aWNAQ3aUKQ3a304

Your profile does not say where you live; if you don't live in the UK, click at the left-hand side of the screen to request 'worldwide' offerings.

Why don't you try just rocks and plants, to see how your fish like it 'au naturel', and then make up your mind later? But something from the above link may inspire you ...

Just edited my profile, i am from uk :).
Thanks for the link, i checked ebay earlier, but i'm not too keen on any of the items, and plus i prefer to buy from websites rather than auction websites, but thanks, and i will be using it for inspiration :D.

What about an Ancient Rome theme complete with columns. This would look good with a black substrate.

Or you could go more natural with different slate caves, maybe some clay pots, bogwood and nice selection of plants.

Since I am not from the UK I can't advise you on where to purchase these but they seem to be commonly available here.

Good luck. You must show before & after pics when you finally decide.

Yea, i like the idea of Ancient Rome, as i like history, plus they look attractive.
Don't worry, i'll post pics before/after as soon as i get the new stuff (not sure how long it iwll be)
One question, do i just need to rinse the new ornaments in water, and then i can put them in (some tank water in a bowl)? Or do i need to do something else?
Thanks.

For all of my decorations & fake plants I always just give them a real good rinse in hot water and make sure there isn't any lose paint or other material that may harm the fish. Live plants need to be rinsed in cool to lukewarm water. Good luck

I think Ethos had like, a sphinx and pyramids underwater if that's what you're referring to with the Egyptian set-up. :)

My betta tanks both have semi-natural themes :p - silk plant, natural gravel etc, but Rio's tank is home to a little ship's steering wheel ornament that he loves so I left it in there. Jeremiah is getting another ornament soon.

Many gardening places would sell ornaments, I live in Australia so I can't name any though, sorry.

Good luck, and as kimbowee said: please post pic when you change the theme! :D

i personally have a natural theme with lots of plants an logs an stones an stuff like that, i have seen lots of different themes but i quite like the sort of atlantis underwater theme..just an idea

bakerboi

ATM my 20 is a mangrovey theme, the 15 is a cave theme and the betta tanks all consist of a decoration (ie, arch or cave) and a few silk plants. Heres the l;atest picture of the 20.
