Ok heres the tanks that I have at the moment:

29 gallon - 8 female bettas and 8 cories
20 gallon growout
10 gallon - empty
5 gallon spawning tank
2 gallon quarantine

I'm trying to firgure out what to do with my 10 gallon. So here are my thoughts,

-Make the 10 gallon the spawning tank and get a dwarf puffer for the 5 gallon
-divide the 10 gallon and get more male bettas
-do something else

Ok so I don't have a lot of thoughts on it yet :p

What are some other things I could put in the 10 gallon, preferably not livebearers or bettas. I want something different! Any suggestions would be great!!

I just upgraded my 10 gallon tank that had a dwarf gourami, some pygmy corys and a school of neons. Currently I'm leaving my ten gallon down for hosp or quarantene for new fish but I was thinking that if I set it up again I might just get a bunch of harlequin rasboras or red velvet swordtails.

more suggestions:

killifish

sparkling gouramis

honey gouramis

peacock gobies

ADFs

pygmy rasboras (though I believe they want soft water)

cherry barbs

oneponygirl, a 10 gallon is far too small for swordtails; they are big active fish and need a long tank.

I think a very interesting type would be a nice small gorami tank or../...... a school of neons and 2 discus love um

you being serious about the discus lol.

and if you breed betta's what do you do with all the males if you keep them all in a 20g you'd have to sell them quick ??? asking out of intrest by the way.

:good:

what about something totally different like small turtles, I seen them in my lfs and fell in love with it got my thinking too, the downside is turtle breath throught the bottoms so you can imagine that they will smell but they are funny little things, you can get yellow and red belly ones

but have a look at this website for more ideas www.regalreptile.com

grr I'm kinda sick of looking for this thread. PIN IT PIN IT PIN IT please =)

It's a pretty good thread about what goes well in a ten gallon. If you have any trouble finding some of these fish ask your lfs. Chances are pretty good they'd be willing to special order them for you. There is also a link a little further down in that thread called mini-fishes. It's pretty good too. Hope this is helpful =) Sylvia put a good bit of work into it
