Don't get me wrong I think this site is absolutley brillianant I have learned far more through browsing through tis site than I ever could have by reading a few books and if I have a problem it is like having a fish doctor in the house.

The advice is fantastic, I just would like to see other peoples set ups.

I have done this but I think you are missing the point of my argument, which is should we really let a few sad people spoil what would have been a popular part of this site. I know that I would of voted each month and would have enjoyed the "sportsmanship" of the event.

Just had an idea.

IF for whatever reason, someone thinks that the tank they have posted is not their own, then they MUST provide additional pictures... if you cant then it will not count. Or even add something unique to one of the pictures to prove that its your own tank.

Sounds like a good idea to me, just need to get a moderator to agree and set it up, I would be willing to lend a hand if they would allow a "newbie to help??

I don't want to burst your bubble, but there's very little chance that the xOTMs are going to come back.
Tons of people have offered help and suggestions and it hasn't happened, so I doubt it will happen.

Indeed, its a shame certain ppl have ruined it for the rest of us who would be honest. Ideas like yours have been made in the past, and the mods note these and discuse them in the mods section. So im sure a mod will read this and take into consideration all your ideas.

while it would be easy to hold a crumbled piece of paper next to a tank to show authenticity, it would be quite hard to get a good picture of a fish with a crumbled piece of paper next to it.

anybody who's ever tried taking good pitures of fish would agree, you must take 50 shots to get 2 or 3 good ones. I can't imagine myself holding a paper with one hand, the camera with the other while following the fish around while trying to get a good shot...

anyway, my 2 cents is it would not be worth it. cheating is too easy and pointless thus some people find it funny

I agree, whilst some may think its "worth" it, i dont. The agro its caused in the past isnt worth it on a community based forum. This is about fish, and the experiences we have with them, not about cheating to win competitions!

Anywyas, im sure im not positive all the time LitleFishie, ive been "warned" so im on good behaviour!
