Hi

Ive just brought a new tank which ill be seeting up in a few days. is it ok to use the exsisting water from my old tank to seed the new filter and move the fish straight away? or should I set up from scratch with fresh water and wait a week or two. Ill be transfering 1 gorumi 1 clown loach and a sissor tail then will be adding new fish to the new tank later. one other question I have brought some live plants also is it ok to put them in straight away in my new tank set up?

Thanks

Carl :D :D :D

yea the plants will be fine.

for setting the tank up the water isnt much good really except ya fishies arent too shocked when they go in.

your best running the filter from your existing tank in the new tank because thats where all the benfical bacteria is.

if you have gravel in your old tank then put some of that in a clean stocking or tights and put that in the new tank cos theres good bacteria there too and it can help it spread quicker into the new gravel.

watch your water parameters for a few days afte cos you probably wil get a mini cycle so be ready to do water changes.

Wow I never thought of putting gravel into a stocking or something. The new tank I'm cycling has a completely different color gravel as my already established one, so I pretty much ruled out using it, but thats very clever.
