My tank measurements are 18"x14"x12", can anyone figure out how many gallons that is? I need US gallons, but if you could give me UK gallons, and then convert it to US gallons, that would work too. :p

Why dont you pour some water in (measured in liters) and find out how much it holds then convert it to gallons. You must have something that holds a liter or two?!

;)

1*1.5*1.16*6=48

I think its 48 US gallons but this formulas more of a ruff answer, Its used more on ponds LxWxHx6 then move the decimal over one to the right.

It's definitely not 48 gallons. My 46 gallon is 36x12x18. I'm thinking in the vicinity of 15 gallons.

you guys know that if you figure out the cubic inches you can just go to google and type in 'convert xxx cubic inches to gallons' and it will do it for you right?

its much easier than remembering the formula, hooray for laziness

also in the pinned topic "converters and tables" there's a tank volume calcuator on the 3rd link, use it all the time!!.

you don't even need to type convert. I just do it in my google toolbar and write "xxx cubic inches in gallons" and voila you get your answer!!!!

Oh and just in case you want to know how to work out the cubic inches; multiply the length by the width by the height of the tank (in inches) and that is your cubic inches figure!!!
