First off, can guppies, danios, or red serpae tetras go with chiclids? I am struggling to find tank mates compatible with rosy barbs or assorted chiclids!
Assorted cichlids usually refer to African Cichlids which need to be kept in a species specific tank rather than mixing with others. Rosy barbs would be good with the Danios and in some circumstances the Serpae Tetras but not the Guppies. You dont want to mix the Serpaes and the Guppies either as the Serpaes are known to be fin nippers which will eventually kill off the Guppies.
Can you post pictures of your fish so we know what species of cichlids you are talking about?
What are the tank dimensions (length x width x height)?
What is the GH (general hardness), KH (carbonate hardness) and pH of your water supply?
This information can usually be obtained from your water supply company's website or by telephoning them. If they can't help you, take a glass full of tap water to the local pet shop and get them to test it for you. Write the results down (in numbers) when they do the tests. And ask them what the results are in (eg: ppm, dGH, or something else).
