So I have been contemplating what to do with my tank. The tank is 125 US Gal, and currently has 2 blue acara (juvi) jack dempsey (juvi) Salvini (juvi) and a firemouth. The reason I have been thinking about this is we had a few of our friends over and they said it sure does look a little barren (although I know it may look that way because the fish are still pretty small). My plans for the tank were to add 3 more firemouths (I have a 55 with a breeding pair that has had fry, which I will keep 3 the rest are sold) and maybe a couple of rainbow cichlids. I just wanted to get an idea of what everyone thought about that mix or if I am getting a little too close to the stocking limit. Also, my LFS had a chocolate cichild wich I was fond of, but I know they get quite huge. Any suggestions would be wonderful! Oh, by the way I know I posted about the fish always hiding, but now they all tend to almost eat my fingers off at feeding time!

Hm... Id say no to hybrids. Yes to more firemoths. But i think you will get a bit overstocked

Rainbows are great little cichlids, mine is an evil little monster though, he bites me when I do a wc and he bullied my oscar, they would hold their own no problem with the JD & Firemouths, but I would be a little concerned about the salvini, only because of the similar colouration, a male salvini and male rainbow may clash.

def not 3 more firemouths, i would say 2 rainbows or 1 firemouth and call it good. if you crowd it to much that jd might go berserk and trust me that wont end well
and yeah you tank looks empty because they are young but think about it you have 2 fish that will get about 7 inch and the jd that will get around 9, when you throw in the 5-6 inchers you got in there it wont look empty at all in a year
