I was at walmart the other day and they had these little catfish that swam upside down. They just called them "Upside Down Catfish." They were only about 2 inches long and seemed content to eat algae and pellets. Does anyone know how big these catfish get, and whether or not my male Betta is likely to attack one?

:hyper: be very careful. I purchased a cute upside down catfish about 6 years ago. about 2 inches long. Bless him. He is now the only survivor of my tropicals and is about 9 inches long and has his own tank in my sons bedroom...

you could probaly have him in with your betta for a little while if your tank is a resanoble size and move him when he gets bigger. i think they are fine with bettas.
Good Luck.

You could always go for a smaller variety of catfish if you wanted something that didnt grow so big =)

minnow. the only word that comes to mind besides the normal of corydora.

Tank is 10 gallons.

I didn't know they got quite that large. I don't have room for a bigger tank, so that's out. How big do cory cats get? Would a full grown one be happy in my 10 gallon?

there are 3 mini types of cory, that people recommended for my 15, they are corydoras pygmaeus or habrosus can't remeber the other

Oto's are a nice little fish, I have 3 at the moment, they are active quite a lot.

Cory's are nice, but don't forget you need to have a couple as they thrive best in groups.
