Well I can't see why not, although I doubt it would be a very effective light source for plants to photosynthesize. Then again you might not have plants.

it would look good as a night light though. Good price as well.

I have some live plants in there but the tank is in a well lit room all day, is that ok for them or will i need another light? also will i need a bubbler, the tank is 6 us gallons (23l)

With a filter you will not need an extra bubbler. A small internal or hang on filter will do for that size.
