Hello,

I have an Aqua one 60 which has a leak in the top corner, I can feel a rough edge under the lip possibly missing some silicon.

Can you use any silicon to try to re-seal or is there special silicon that has to be used ?

Is there any tips I should know about how best to apply the silicon?

Thanks.

hi i had the same problem when i had one except mine was the bottom corner. so i took it back and swapped it for a rekord 60. a bit of saelet will do the trick

You can seal it, but only with propper fish-safe sealant. If in doubt here, leave it out

Drop the water level in the tank, and make sure the seam won't get wet for 48 hours while the sealent cures (Keep all flaps open for best ventilation) and clean the area throughly. Next apply any alcohol based chemical to a cloth (Meths, nail varnish remover, flea spray...) and wipe the area to be joined. Run a bead over the join and smooth over with a wet finger. Leave the tank to set for 48 hours, or untill the thing no longer smells of vinegar, whichever comes last, and then re-fill :good:

Thanks for your help just the advice I was looking for.

Would Ebay be the cheapest for the sealant?

Thanks again.

Before or after postage ;) My LFS is cheaper after taking into account postage for single tubes, but bulk buying is where Ebay becomes cheaper :good:
