Hi there,
I'm going to finally start my tank journal today lol, almost two weeks ago now (two weeks sunday) I got my 60x30x30 54 litre 12ukgallon (15us gallon) tank. Im using argos playsand and have 1 java fern on bogwood, java moss (it has only recently been put on so nothing much yet) on 2 pieces of slate and a coconut shell cave, and java fern windelov on slate (wouldve put it on bogwood but slate was the only thing i had to hand.) Now, before you all go saying its sparse etc etc, i know its sparse but am gonna leave it be until the cycle finishes, and let the java fern windelov grow some so then i can go from there. Some time I want to get some moss balls because they are really cool. These are the only pics I have on my photobucket account and cant take any more until I find the digi cameras USB cable :X but heres a start.

Before I put in java moss and java fern windelov, sorry no full tank pics with it in because I seem to have misplaced the USB cable

java moss windelov plantlet, kind of tied on haphazardly. I did try. excuse the airstone which is kind of sharing the slate with it.

so thats it so far, sorry i dont have more pics but will update this when i have found the usb cable. :)

Looking good :good:
Im using the same sand as you cand it seems to be doing well.
Any ideas on fishies?

yeah argos plasand is great, and I strongly recommend it, it doesnt take too much cleaning either. Im going to be stocking with harlequin rasboras (rasbora heteromorpha) kuhli loaches (pangio kuhlii) and three-lined corydoras (corydoras trilineatus). spellings of scientific names may not be correct because they are from memory. not quite sure on numbers yet but just to give an idea. :)

lookin good :good:

My only concern is the java moss....its just not tied down securely enough and one day soon you are gonna wake up with empty pieces of slate and a filter full of moss.

Stick a hair net over it and then tie it down. should stay in place then

I love tank journals, and hope to make one too when I set up my new tank, but I have the same problem as you, I can find the bloody USB cable!

thanks for the comments everyone :) yeah i was concerned about the moss too, so i think i'll get a hairnet asap. do you think its a good idea to put malaysian trumpet snails in there while its cycling or not?
