Tank Glass Blemished/,marked

Hi all,

When I received my RR94 tank as I was wiping down the insides before filling I noticed what looked like a chip in the glass.

Upon closer inspection the mark appeared to be proud of the surface and very much like hardened superglue (though a stanley blade barely touches it).

I've also tried using nail polish remover which only removed the thinner parts.

As the mark was on the least viewed side of the tank I was happy to leave it, until I noticed another similar mark on the front corner

Can anyone recommend something to remove these? I also tried using a polishing head on a Dremel which seemed to soften the mark but as the tank is now filled I don't want to heat the area and cause stress.

Also, as soon as I spotted the marks I phoned the retailer who won't do anything about it as the lying little so and so of a delivery driver claims to have offered an inspection which we supposedly declined

Any suggestions welcomed!!

Sorry to hear about your issue, I would be inclined to contact trading standards and see where you stand.

if it is a new tank then demand a replacement.

Thanks guys.

I have drafted an email which I intend to send describing the events and defects found. Basically quoting the sale of goods act and distance selling regs.

The problem is I use it as a reef tank meaning I have had to put my LR and saltwater in so I hope I've not shot myself in the foot using it?

I will name and shame if no satisfactory response is given.
