Let's Be Friends
Note, I'm not able to really buy anything new for the tank right now (I'm putting my money toward a new tank for my female convict and her -hopefully- future mate) and I think if I just rescape it a bit I can have a prettier looking tank.
Anyways. Here's what I'm working with.
(the tank water is leaning not because the stand is on a slant or something, but because I live in a crooked house.)
In a nutshell, the tank consists of this:
2 medium size pieces of mopani wood
1 large piece of something that was simply labeled "driftwood"
1 Java fern anchored to a decent sized piece of driftwood
1 Java fern not anchored to driftwood
2 anubias nana anchored to nothing
2 anubias barteri (that's what they were sold to me as, but the tall one looks a lot different than the short one, the short ones leafs fan out a bit, whereas the tall ones point upwards.)
Quikrete play sand substrate
150 watt Aqueon Pro Heater
75 gallon marineland biowheel filter
Tank dimensions 30"Lx12"Wx24"H
Stocking
9 black skirt tetras
6 red eye tetras
5 black khuli loaches
1 Firemouth cichlid
1 Convict cichlid (temporary)
I tried reading around about aquascaping and such, and ultimately, it just made my head hurt, and I could use a little guiding hand, here.
Advice, suggestions, criticism, and compliments all appreciated.

try just playing around one day u do a water change if you want to buy something something like new sand may help different colour? aquascaping is a mind hurting experience
I'm bad with my plant names. Can you tell me a bit more about these? What sort of light do they require? I've been trying to stick with low lighting plants, as my tank only has a tiny LED bar on the top of the lid, I'm unsure of what sort of light it puts out.
my firemouth loves scooping it and shooting it at the front and side of the aquariums
he may be small, but he gets work done during the day
