Hi Guys n Girls

I've just got a new 90litre tank and will be tranfering the fish from my current 60litre into it, i understand the chemistry of cycling a tank and building up essential bacteria, if i was to move the contents of my 60litre to my 90litre including fish and external filter, surely the bacteria already in my external filter would mean i dont need to cycle the new tank and i could do a straight swap adding 30litres of water.

Is this viable? if not how should i go about it??

Comments and advice appreciated.

You dont need to keep the water aslong as the PH and temp is roughly the same. Just make some more dechlored water. If you are going to be using the existing filter then you will not need to cycle at all, as long as you dont turn it off/let it go dry/have no ammonia source.

So i can get it setup fast then nothing worse than waiting for a tank to cycle!! Thanks
