I have a hexagonal 5 gallon tank on top of which I would like to set a tray. The plexiglas I have seen at Home Depot is rather expensive, so I was wondering if there is a cheaper alternative. As the tank is holding a betta and some ghost shrimp, I do not have a filter, so all I need is something plain and "regularly" shaped into which I can drill a few holes.

Thanks in advance

Hi Temp :)

Good to see you again! :hi:

This is just a suggestion but you might try looking at the plastic canvas in a craft store. It can be trimmed easily to size with a pair of scissors. The holes are in it already. This is the same product that some members use to make tank dividers for bettas and other fish.
