Hi Everyone

I just wanted to see how people decorate the back of their tanks, as I was thinking of adding a backdrop to mine.

If you have done it another way to what is on the poll, add a reply.

i use black plastic bin liners taped to the back, nice and cheap.

Black plastic backdrop.
Was thinking about getting a white one, or making one out of white letter paper.

Have turned plant background around to the solid dark blue it shows off my fish colors better.

All but 3 of mine have the same stuff as CFC has. One has the nice dark blue that fades to black, I wanted it to look nice for in the living room. The other two I did a "pimp my ride" job on the background with some dark blue window tint film that was laying around.

On both my 20 & 30 gal tanks I have the plastic back drop with lots of plant pictures. On the 20 gal the backdrop also has pictures of platies. Makes it look like I can fit more fishies in my tank. :)

Plastic one on the back r better for me then the other :).

i have a plastic black one on both tanks. Have been tempted to paint, but then its more hassle if you wanna change it.

Don't have anything on there yet, but I like the look of the blue fading to black one. The transparent blue film is a good idea I plan on trying as well, bet it looks cool with a moonlight....

I'm assuming you meant "painTed". And though mine isn't painted, it's still blue...but not plastic!
I actually have a draping of cloth. Easier to switch if I want to, and do cleaning.

It's supposed to look like shadowy, rippling water. Got it at Wal-Mart for $3.50 a square yard.

Here's what it looks like close-up, and far away.

I have pictured backgrounds on all my tanks from rocky scenes, planted scenes and one coral scene for my lobster (cray fish).

I like thwe plastic ones though, when I set up my next tank I might go with that for something different.

I purchased a background for mine, one of the the planted tank look ones. I made sure that the back of it was black so I could switch it if I changed my mind. Well, by the time I got home I had indeed reconsidered and put up the black side. I have a planted tank and IMO a black (or perhaps dark blue) background is the only way to go.
