I just recently acquired a 60 gallon tank that measures 24" tall x 48" wide x 12" deep. I'm looking to plant it very densely and I'm looking for some tall plants. I'd like most of my background plants to grow at least halfway to the top of my tank (12"+). What are your suggestions?

Cabomba is reaching the surface for me at 24" tall. So is my Water sprite {which is very full and fills a whole corner nicely}

Cabomba is a good one but be prepared to cut it back frequently as mine grew about an inch a day. I eventually got rid of it due the side roots looking unsightly. My favourite is Hygrophilia augustifolia, nice and bushy and green. Another tall, fast growing one Vallisneria, but i find this gets unruly due to the fact new plants shoot up randomly from anywhere in the tank and you end having to cut them at the roots to get rid of the new shoots

Wow, the vallisneria sounds cool. I like the randomness of plants sometimes. I'll have to look for that. I had Cabomba and I never did have much luck with it. And when it dies, it's really messy. I'll have to check out watersprite, augustfolia, and val.

excuse the spelling, google should correct it on a search.

crinim callamistatum, crinim natans, aponogeton bovianus, apongeton crispus/crispus red, echindorus ozelot all get very tall
