Hello! I have a 22L Aqua Nano 30.

I have sand substrate and I have anubias nana and some other weird short plant.

Can anyone recommend me a plant that is "tall" for this tank I could get. Like vallis or cabomba but obviously more suitable for a nano tank. Its 30cm high and it's PL lighting (whatever that is) which seems to work nicely for plants. :)

Thanks

Vallis would be the best choice imo. When it grows too tall for your tank it will travel along the surface. Most stem plants would too, but they look messy when they do that and would need pruning regularly. Tiger Vallis is better than regular. :good:

Crypt Balansae would be a better option for a nano, as it grows a lot slower than Vallis. I have seen it used in nano's and it really suits well. :good:

i like the looks of moneywart and bannana plants. and they grom pretty easy.

Hey, i have both... see ya!

(although the moss ball is hidden behind the filter due to its ugliness.)

Balansae is a good option, leaves stay very thin and grow with a curl, I have loads in my tank which I bought when they were 2 inches tall and they have grown nicely into a really interesting group.

Ian can't grow vallis, he will always hate it

if there was one plant i could ban from TFF, Vallis would be it...Vallis and Moss balls, i hate moss balls as well!

You still owe me 25p, plus i've found an incriminating journal pic

+1 on the Balansae

I'm too happy to read the good info. :) Anyway, when I next go to my LFS, I will look for bog wood and what you guys recommend. I'll post a pic when it looks good. Probably going to go for Balansae
