Ok guys, i have had this tank for a while. Used to house a goldfish back in the days  but after taking it out the closed ive decided to turn it into a Betta tank!

Ive filled it, set temp to 30c, added (what maaayyy help) a bit of mature media and added "5" ppm of ammonia. I say "5" as i put in the calculated amount and have 8+ ppm. Also, the mature media may not be very active, but it was worth a try.

First tests:

Temp:30
Ammonia:8+
Nitrite:0
Nitrate:0

Wish me luck, thats all for now.

8 ppm of ammonia might be a bit much in a 14L tank

Tho you might wanna wait for someone who knows more than me to comfirm or deny it :good:

In my 60L thats cycling now i put the smallest bit of mature media in you could find and it really helped only been cycling 9 days and its only a few days from been done

Good luck on the cycle :good:

Hi

Im also currently cycling a tank at the moment. (and getting hints and tips from the Forum). One thing that might help in your cycling is adding an airstone. The Betta most likely wouldn't like it, but whilst cycling the Bacteria need oxygenated water to grow and at warmer temperatures there is less oxygen in the water.

Good Luck :)
