Taking fish back to your lfs

I've taken fish back.

As some of you are aware I am trying to create a pair of golden eyed cichlids here in my house and I keep ending up with boys rather than girls!

I also took that RTBS to my aquarist, which I still believe was the right thing to do for him, and for his tank mates.

It does help to like and trust your LFS and believe they will care for the fish. But I was still crushed when the little golden eyed guys went. Very sad day for me.

I have traded fish back and would again, there is always a market for ready grown fish as many people dont have spare tanks for growing up juvinile fish and cant add small fish to tanks which already contain large fish that would eat them. Its better that a fish someone has become uninterested in goes back to a store where another aquarist can buy them rather than be kept and neglected.
As we proceed in this hobby our tastes in fish change, when i first started out i wanted a tank full of colour and activity but soon found myself drawn to the more strange looking and predatory fish so the majority of the original pleasant little community fish went back to the store to create space for different fish, if i hadnt been able to do that then i would probably have sold the tank and fish and not been in the hobby still today.
