I have a fairly new tank... I know nothing about tropical fish so we put them in the day after we got the tank. I already had one fish die probably because of this. So my question is will changing the water frequently help keep all the levels down.. or do I have to go out and buy all the chemicals they have in the store to help with that? And as a side note my sunburst platy's have started hanging out at the top of the tank. Should I be worried? Any suggestions : )

Did you put dechlorinator into the water? If not, this is probably whats killing them, it is very poisoness to fish. (water from the tap i mean)

What size is your tank? Litres? How many fish?

Do you also have a Water test kit to test your ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, ph levels??

If not, i would advise you invest in one, its the best thing ive ever bought.

There are plenty of pinned topics here about cycling with and without fish.

I hope these are useful to you, and your little fishes are ok :-( :D
