Thanks for the link, Those adult fish on the cichlid forum look fantastic. Is 1-3 good in your opinion or had you hoped for 2-2 given that peacocks don't need more females than males. Will the female just remain that sort of drab mottled brown or do they have colour?

Excellent pics by the way Nick, I don't think I've ever seen a pic of a holding female that detailed.

The Holding female is a different species of fish, thats a Aulonocara maylandi "Eccles Reef" http/www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=653
