I heard some bettas tail bite. How common is this and why does it happen. Is this bad for the betta and would you notice it on a CT... you would notice it more on HM or VT (Longer fins etc) Is there any way to stop it?

Just finding out info incase it happens...

Many Thanks

In healthy bettas i dont think tail biting is an issue. I'm not an expert but i have read on another thread that it indicates stress/ bad water conditions and is a repetative behaviour for fish who are depressed. So id say as long as your betta is kept in a good tank (which yours is/will be i've seen the pics :shifty: ) then you shouldnt have a problem!!

Keeping the water clean and clear is always important, but remember that Bettas, just like people, have their own personalities. Some may be more passive, some more aggressive. So sometimes there's not much you can do if they are over aggressive.

Yeah, Midnight is a grumpy old man whereas Sunrise(which is a boy, i asked the my friend, the fish expert) is so passive and easy going!

I suppose each fish is different. Though bubbles doesnt seem to be unhealthy or depressed just a little shy and sulky at the moment. Soon to cheer up
