Tadpole Snails In Betta Tank

Hi just a quick question can i put an tadpole snail in with my betta while conditioning ? Or will this stop hin from conditioning?

Your male is getting conditioned due to the food he is eating, high protein food.
Im more than certain a snail will not affect this

I thought it was combined with having no other living creater in with it but now i know its not ill add a snail to help with clean ups

Also does they need meat every day? As i have been giving them meat every day besides today where i have given a pea each

With having no real space to condition my female due to treating some of my males in separate tanks, she is actually getting conditioned in my main female tank with 16 other females. I have to take her to 1 side to feed her and its been working a treat.
Im putting my 2 together on Saturday for a hopeful spawn


Meat im guessing you mean bloodworm etc??
I feed a mixture of bloodworm, daphnia and mosquito larvae (all frozen) and pellets twice a day, I will miss a few meals over the 2 weeks (only feed them once a day)

So how long do i need to wait for the male to make his nest again after i put him in his spawning tank?

It depends how your going about putting him in the spawning tank and when you are adding the female. Everyone does it different, there isnt a right and wrong way (to some extent anyway) and also each male is different.

I have had 2 successful spawns out of 3.
My first one all the signs were there, huge nest, female full of eggs but the male just ripped her fins to shreds so I took her out and never tried them again.
My 2nd spawn my female had been in the tank with the male (same male as the first attempt) for 24 hours (in her bottle) and he still didn't build a nest. Once she was released he eventually started to build his nest and I had my first spawn. It was over 18 hours before they started to wrap.
My 3rd time, once my female was added in her bottle the male immediately started building his nest, when she was released 24 hours later they were wrapping within 10 minutes and finished within 1 hour.

every male is different, no time limit can be put on it. He may build it before the female is added he may not....

There is no need to transfer it, he will build a new one.
Males built nests daily, it means there happy.

Aah ok would you recomend putting him in the spawning tank a few days ahead of his conditioning ending so he gets used to the tank?

Also what temp its currently at 79'f 24.5'c higher lower or stay with that temp

I spawn at 28 and keep the fry at that temp.

I wouldn't add him too soon as he may become territorial

Do you have food ready for the fry if the spawn is a success?

Yeh got that it costed a hefty price from my lfs £7.00 for a tube of it lol

I just found out that comparing blood worm and brine shrimp my male betta prefers brine shrimp to blood worm
