Tablet Food For Bottom Feeders

i just brought this "Tetra" brand "tropical tablet" for bottom eaters.

the tablets are the size of avarage tablet really. i have 5 bottom eaters, do i just put the whole tablet in or should i brake it down???

and, my other "normal" fishes zealously eat the tablet also. isnt that a problem since, 1. tablets are not for them, so my other bottom feeders dont get as much. 2. isnt it too much food for the "normal" fish(angle, tetra)as they dont stop eating the tablets!

how does these tablets work? is it designed for community tanks?

Just bung it in. If you are worried that your bottom feeders aren't getting enough, try feeding the tablets just after lights out, when the other occupants should (in theory) be asleep. Have to admit that I have never found a way of stopping my livebearers from pigging on the catfish's food, whether tablets, cucumber or whatever.

I use these tablets for my ottos but I don't know how much they get, as one fat danio guards it from all the other fish. She seems to thing it is her private food supply!

I tried these for my cories, they didn't really like them, but they did clean it up overnight, trouble is the tablets turn into a pile of mush pretty quickly and it makes a mess on the substrate.

true, this "tablet food for bottom eaters" seems to be unpratical and problematic....

So. any suggestions on a good, pratical food for the cories?

Mine actually prefer the tablets to the pellets It takes them a while to eat so you have to ignore the 2 minutes rule, but the mess is always gone in the morning. I also feed mine TetraDelica jellied bloodworm, brine shrimp and daphnia. They love that stuff! Makes them randy too....

I feed algae wafers every other day. At the moment I only have 2 cories and 1 pleco (I want some more panda cories..) so I break the wafers in half. I feed them right before bed because they tend to be most likely to eat at night.

If you find any food remaining the next morning then just take it out, and maybe feed less until you find it is all gone by morning. They won't really eat it all at once - it has to sit awhile and they'll come by and nibble at it.

We feed our 3 cories and 3 Kuhli Loaches wafers every day and they haven't let the tablet get to the point of messing up the substrate. I only feed them an amout of the tabs that they can eat in about an hour though
