Looking into some T5 light units and was wondering

With t5 units I take it the hoodnof the tank must be removed?

Secondly are they good at growing plants lighting wise?

Thirdly at 2.5 watts per gallon is Co2 necessary?

Many Thanks :)

T5 lighting is a good way of getting good plant growth

You do not have to take the hood off the tank, depends on what kind of light unit you get, you can get diy t5 that fits into your hood, suspended t5 unit and units that can fit on top of your tank.

If you think you're gonna get 2.5 watts per gallon, then co2 is a must really, more lights basically means more plant growth so need co2 for the growth.
