Synos Where A Bad Idea With Plecos!

my synos are active little things and my plecos have taken an instant dislike to them they dart around the tank at speed when chasing one another and generally having fun.

my bn is always on the lookout for them and gets her spurs out ready for the attack. from what i can tell one of the synos has a few marks which suggests my bn has been attacking.

ive decided not to setup my 2ft 60l as planned and instead get my other 4ft 150l out of the shed and put the synos in there. i think they would be happier in there, on there own.

the problem i have is i filled the 150l up today and it sprang a small leak on the front left hand side and the base underneath was also wet so i assume the base is also leaking. im thinking of doing my fake rock background in this tank and hopfully seal all the holes with silicone ( packing it in ) and then cement on top when it cures. obviously i will water test it for a week before i bring it into the house.

can i use no nails in an aquarium?

Kinda same thing happened to me when I added my synos to my BN pleco. However my Leopard syno was more of the aggressor and territorial, they used to go at it then my Syno outgrew my BN fast, now my BN just stay away when my syno is too close and try to chase him. My BN gets along tho with my smallest Leopard Syno, they even share the same wood.

my bn is aggressive to other bigger plecos. i thought she might have been ok with the syno's ( nigrita ) but she's not. they are just too fast and boisterous for my quiet pleco + cat community.
