Hi all
I havr just purchased one of the above, had him/her about 2 weeks now. The only problem is i very rarely see him/her because apparently they are nocturnal. Does anyone know a way of seeing more of this fish, i did read somewhere that adding another one may help the problem. By the way the synodontis is in with some malawi cichlids.
any help appreciated

They are nocturnal so will only come out at night. I've recently added some blue LEDs to light up my tank at night. He doesnt always come out but now and again i'll see him nibbling on some algae wafers.

You will definitely see more of them in a shoal, I'd suggest 3-4. Is it definitely a S.multipunctata? Do you have any pics to confirm?

They should be kept in a group which helps to make them feel secure in their surroundings.
I have 6 of the synodontis lucipinnis in one of my tanks and 4 psynodontis etricola and another 6 hybrids in my malawi tank and find them to be very 'out and about' and sociable as there`s a large number of them :good:

Pictures are a little hard to get of him as hes never out of his cave long enoougfh to get a good snap, lol! Was told at the shop that he was a syno multipunctata and he looks similar to the pictures when googled, hes darkb brown with black spots and has an almost shark like profile. I have a 180 litre tank so how many more could i add, another 2 maybe? i also have 9 juvenille malawis in with him. will get a picture up when i can get a decent 1.
best regards

How much did you pay?
Generally speaking, the hybrids tend to be a bit cheaper. My lfs sells the Rift Valley Synos for about £25 each.
