I have a 60 gallon(I think about 49x14x21 or somewhere around there in lxwxh) with a leopard bush fish Madagascar rainbows and Denison barbs. I have a carpet of s repens in there and other than that just some Java fern on rocks and lilies. Do you think it would be possible to house a synodontis eupterus with the plants and fish?) carpet is covering about 50 percent of all bottom)

I think Synodontis in a planted tank wouldn't be too much of a problem. The bigger plants will give them lots of cover that they like. Smaller carpeting should be fine. They're nocturnal and so you hardly see them during the day. Some species can get quite large, the Eupterus I think from memory will get to around 8-10 inches and even up to 12, so I wouldn't keep one in a 4ft tank.

Also, they will eat any fish that will fit in their mouths so you'll have to stick to larger fish when you top up your stock.
