We got our Synodontis Eupterus in late August........here is a pic of him then:

Now in November, he is the biggest thing in the tank......and looks quite splendid when he spreads his fins:

It is nice to see them grow up.

We think one of the reasons he is getting big is that he is in with Mollys......and when the newborn fry go to sleep he (and our other syno) turn into molly-vacuum-cleaners and suck up the fry.

Interesting to see the differing colours though.....................

What a beautiful featherfin euruptus!

He must be eating well!! lol.

Have you thought about moving some things about and putting him in the 140L?

It would be nice for the 3 loaches to be together.... maybe do the following:

Have the silver shark, mollies, bn cats, syno and zebra loaches in the 140L and put everything else into the 100L.

Just a thought!

Ben

EDIT: Just realised the 140L is the window tank so maybe this re-shuffle wouldnt work!

Thanks Ben, we had thought about a move round..........but the 140L is the "Thin Tank" so we are limited in the length of things that can go in there (it is a 5 ft x 2 ft x 6 inch tank) (see my other picture posting).

The loaches and the synos are beginning to fight a little over bottom food........neither gives way, but neither really means harm, they just push each other round....

I would really like to introduce a couple (pair) of cichlids to the 100L so will shortly be moving the rest of the loaches to the 140L.

Might just have to get another thank then.................... :D

Another tank is never a bad thing! You can get some nice tanks really cheap these days and the 2nd hand market is always bursting with offers.

My 2 biggest tanks are Hagen/Fluval tanks, 50G and 57G. They cost me £280 each "all inclusive" (lights, heater, filter, gravel, and loads of other crap). Very well made tanks in my opinion and not overly expensive for a new tank.

Having said this I have seen 2nd tanks up to 8foot go for under £200!

Money and space are issues............as always..........I think my best option would be to replace the 100L with something larger.......I have calculated that I can fit a 4 x 1.5 x 1.5 in the space the current tank is in.....but have been told by "the boss" that she doesn't want it to dominate the room........... ........oh well.

...........have to see what the new year brings I think........... :D

I have 4 of this fellows, they can be really shy at the start, but they are really warming up to me now, especially after i bought some nutrafin sinking tablets... :p

P.T.
