"This is one species of Synodontis that has been commercially farmed using hormone techniques, particularly in Eastern Europe. If you have any doubts about the quality of the stock for sale, you should enquire as to its origins"

that sux, this cat looks to have the potential of being a gorgeous fish! too bad some dirtbags gotta mess with the genetics & screw it up.

sorry ive lost ya not trying to sound dumb but what do you mean????? whats a hormone hybrid so the fish i get will not be synodontis brichardi

I would say if your getting a brichardi for £2.99 then your getting a rather good deal. I have just paid £15 for a 5" brichardi but im happy.

yeah these are 3" mate im a bit lost as to the whole hormone hybrid thing i asked the lfs and he didnt understand either wasnt really expecting him to be he assures me there genuine synodontis brichardi.

have a look at the link that mammafish has put up, if they look like that then you have a brichardi, they do things differently were mammafish is from so dont take it too seriously, sorry mammafish :*

yeah i have seen it sort of get it anyways ill be getting them friday evening so ill post some pics for you to see can i see yours

read again "Eastern Europe"

This is one species of Synodontis that has been commercially farmed using hormone techniques, particularly in Eastern Europe. ;) If you have any doubts about the quality of the stock for sale, you should enquire as to its origins. While such techniques take any pressure off wild stocks, they have been known to produce very undesirable hybrids in the sad quest to produce “something different”. This is really unnecessary in the case of our featured fish as it is such an unusual and attractive Synodontis anyway!

:p :p :p :p :p do things funny where IIIII come from ehh?

OK OK i'lll claim the "Chicken Dance" but thats it!!!!!!!! LMAOOOOOOOOO :hyper:

Thats a fantastic looking catfish. I looked into them as reading for a 55 gallon cichlid tank I would like to set up but they get to big.
I saw them on a fish show but have never seen one in pet store. My friends father has a large catfish in a big tank from Africa called a Giraffe pretty sure its from the cichlid lakes think same family but not sure.

you probably mean auchenoglanis occidentalis which grows big! about 2 feet i think. but yeah they are found all over africa and found in some of the lakes. btw the synodontis brichardi grows to 8 inches in comparison.

:good:

hi lia. I think a brichardi will be very happy in a 55 gallon tank. they are a lovely looking fish.
