Just got a new Koi Lyretail sword today and so far hes done nothing but sit on the bottom. When he does come up, my red minor chases him away, but thats only ever so often. He just sits there, sometimes I think hes dead. Is this just from the stress of being transported from his old tank? I got him from a professional fish store, the best in Minnesota, where he was in a largish tank with tons of others. He was in an air pumped bag for a few hours, (the store is an hour from where I live)and I floated him for about 45 mins to an hour. My other fish are all swimming about like normal, and I just changed the water last weekend so it cant be the water quality. Should I wait a day and see if he gets more active? Im just really worried because he wasnt exactly cheap.. and hes very pretty. I cant recall any of my other fish doing this when I brought them home..

Ive never had swords before. They arent a brackish fish like mollies are they? All the mollies I ever had died within a month or two of purchase.. And I dont add aquarium salt to my tank seeing as the other fish wouldn't like it.

Any ideas?

It does sound like transport stress. This time of year it can be a bit cool in Minnesota so he may have gotten too cool. I brought home some fish this weekend froma club auction and they were looking poorly. A few hours after I warmed them back up they were fine, but the auction building had been too cool for those fish.
Another possibility is that your water is not much like the LFS water. With an hour's drive, you may have very different water parameters. That means your new fish will be struggling to adapt to new water. It is one reason I always use a drip acclimation instead of simply getting a temperature match.
