i have a swordtail that i got 5 hours a go and she has fin rot do you think that it will live till 2morow when i can get some treatment or is there an another way to treat it today#

help

If it had fin rot already you should of not brought it or return it to be honest.

You can treat with a salt bath.
get a litre of water add 30g of salt mix it well.
add the fish.
Fish dont like this, the float and strougle.
leave then for 60 seconds at the most and return to tank.

treating with melifix or myxazin are the best stuff though, just add every 2-3 days.

i really did not see cause it was on one of the front/side fins which are like see trough

does it has to be tank salt

just asking

To be honest coz if for a few seconds you can us any salt.

mh too late

i went out and got INTERPET ANTI FUNGUS AND FINROT

and at step 4 it says remove carbon and zeolite filter media from the aquarium I have a stingray filter is that the 2 things on the each side of the motor? ( i think it is )

if that is takin out of the filter for 7 days can there be any damage done

thanks

Stingrays don't come with Zeolite, but I'm sure they have carbon.

Your looking for any black stuff in the filter, that's carbon.
Any carbon in the system will remove the treatment your adding. This is why it needs removing.

ok so i went and checked and there is two little boxes that have white rocks and black round things in them

should i take them out before using the INTERPET

if that is taken out of the filter for 7 days can there be any damage done to the fish or the tank

thanks

The black stuff is your carbon. It must be removed for the medication to stay in the water. As long as you have plenty of other things in the filter to act as locations for the beneficial bacteria to live, the carbon removal will not hurt anything. Many of us run our filters with no carbon all the time.

ok thanks for all of your help

im off to treat my fish :D

Yep remove the black stuff, your be fine adding it back at any point, but after about a month it should be replaced anyway as the do stop working.

mh i sow them for sale in my local pet shop

when i went to buy the medicine i told the shop keeper that i got the fish from her and that the female had fin rot

hope she will take care of it by treating the tank

the female s fin rot stopped i think

but know im sure she has ich which i noteced the same time as the finrot but i thought that it just as the rotted fin cause it was were the fin rot was under the fin

she keeps on pooing long white poo but in some places gray poo what could that be ? i hear for goldfish that happends when they reabsorb their eggs

how can i get rid of ich she is the only fish that has it ?

she is bottom sitting im not sure she will last the night help
