Swords Disintegrating

I bought an amazon sword about 3 weeks ago and it looking like the leaves are disintegrating.

I have a 30 gallon tank and a 20watt bulb running from 8:30 - 11pm with a half hour nap mid day


Any ideas?

Swords can do that when first planted, the old leaves die off, and gradually new ones will appear - not sure how much light they prefer though, 20watts over 30gallons is pretty low.

Thanks for the info... I've been wanting to upgrade my lights but dont have the $$

Yeh, most are grown out of the water which means they have emergent leaves, once in the aquarium they produce immersed leaves, which will probably be longer and thinner.
