Sword tail problem

I've had my swordtails for about 18 months now, maybe slightly more, a male and a female. Lately the male has become "bent" When you look at him from above - he's like an "S" shape He's still swimming around, eating and generally seems ok - just slowed down a bit. Is this due to old age or what? Anyone got any ideas?

It is most likely a deformaty from birth, i has a platy like this, i didnt notice till about a month after i got her! Theres nothing u can do, and as long as it isnt suffering at all, then just leave it be

Would a deformity like this show up after 18 months?

It probably was always deformed, but u have only just noticed it.
