Hi.
i was thinking of switching from gravel to sand today, unless any of you experts would like to tell me i cant?
check my sig for a full fish list- the 80g one.

Here is also a link to a thread I did about how I made my switch. It was actually from play sand to Tahitian Moon sand but still went very well.

I was asking the same question a bit back too, definatly glad I moved to sand, it looks nice and plants and cories love it. Although I do end up cleaning it more often than gravel, as the dirt sits on it, making you feel bad ^^

dirt sits on it, not beneath it! :)
sand is far better than any other substrate in my opinion, but some tanks look nice with gravel too. I just prefer sand

I like the look of sand but have never had it, I have a 125 gallon with oscars i believe they are more towards gravel as they like to play with it but in any other tank, How do you clean the sand with a syphon i would think it would get sucked up in the syphon.

The sand is too heavy to get picked up in the syphon unless you ram it into the sandbed... just swish it lightly over the top and all the gunk will get sucked up, but the sand itself will stay down. My oscar LOVES digging around in the sand

I setup my new tank with sand in last weekend and moved my cory's in, one spawned yesterday :D So I'd say your corys will love you (and each other ;) )
