Swirch To Live Possibly

I have a 55 gallon with a pleco, a kissing gourami, a firemouth, tetras and cories. I use plastic plants but i would like to try to switch to live plants but I read that the kg and the plec will destroy almost all plants and the firemouth will dig them up lol. I read that I should try java ferns and java moss cause its a hardy plant but if I did switch to live I would want more than just those two so are there other plants that can possibly survive with them. I have sand and driftwood and a strawberry planter (looks wonderful) so i could probably attach it to the wood and maybe get thicker sand layers so he couldnt dig them up.

Anubias would possibly work.
