help! we have had our fish since it was born (6 months ago) and a few days ago it started getting sick. It slowly lost its appetite and all it did was sit there for a couple of days. Now all of a sudden all it does is circle. We think he is going to die soon but hes done this for about 24 hours now. I would just like to see if anyone knows what this could be from in case it could affect our other fish. He is the only one that is sick and we tested the water and it is fine. We also did a partial water change. thanks in advance for any advice.

Most likely swim bladder disorder - feed a shelled pea and add a little salt to the water if you don't have any scaless fish/inverts. What kind of fish BTW? Is the tank cycled? Read link in sig. if in doubt about cycling.

the fish is a mollie...yes the tank is cycled....what do you mean by shelled pea??? a regular pea with the skin off??? ha.. i know.. stupid question... thank you again..

oops - forgot to mention that :p yes - a regular pea like phantom thief said.

doesn't seem to want anything to do with the pea .....i keep thinking he will die soon...but nope....just swimming in his circles

what are your test results in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, how big is the tank, how many fish and what type, does the belly look swollen.

I dont know what the test results are because my husband does it...but i know they are fine. there are only 3 neon tetras in there with him. the tank is 7 gallons. as for the belly, i think it looks bigger but my husband does not. however, i never actually pay attention to the fish. i only like this fish because he was born in our tank. ;)

Have you done a water change if not do one to see if that helps, as it might be water quality.

I know exactly what your going through because it's happening to me right now.

I have been researching this on the Internet and found this article

Does that sound like what's happening to your fish?

I think that may be what's happening to mine,if you find a cure let me know!
