Swapping Canister Filters...

Going to be swapping my canister filter soon for my 4ft tropical (350L).
At the moment i have a Aqua One 1000 which does up to a 200L tank and a Ehiem pick up 2012 which makes up the difference.
A friend of mine is selling a Tetra Ex1200 which does up to 500L...what do you think?
Is it worth getting and has anyone ever had one of these filters?

It would be good to update your location so people will have an easier time assisting you If you're from the UK, Maidenhead do Aqua mantas that are cheap, solid, and great filters. The newer models come with touch button primes and built in UV.  Certainly worth googling

tetratec ex 1200 are good filters but they do make a constant hum which can be annoying
