That looks bad, how did that get it there, only thing i can think was it dipped and tried to eat the bait and fisherman whipped thinking it was a fish, Same thing happened a few weeks ago,i was down the beach on the groynes, there was a cormorant which had line stuck out of its throat,i managed to pounce on it, tried to pull it out, luckily after abit of jimmiing,it free'd, he had took the fishermans catch before he could reel it in, but managed to pull all out, bloomin things dont arf bite

oh the poor thing :( when i lived in manchester i got in touch with a sanctuary based in devon and they drove all the way up to rescue 2 swans which had been oil-slicked in the canals outside my place of work - if the rspca do nothing (which is inevitable) then do try to get in touch with someone like that!

i have seen this before in the pond in the park next to me, fishermen get lazy and cant be bothered to free there line when it gets stuck to something so just cut it there is line hanging from the trees, across the water all over the place it sucks but it is getting better thank fully :D

must not alf hurt though

By the look of the line and hook i think it might of been an amateur fisherman.
I have had the unfortunate case of a swan getting my hook when i wasnt looking both me and my dad managed to catch it and remove the hook safely as it was a barbless hook yet other fisherman shouted us to leave the hook and let it die in our eyes they are not fisherman they are thugs.

unfortunatly this happened to us once but we caught the duck and unhooked it and he swam off then came back and tryed again we left after that
