Hi all I am moving my Livestock around and will soon have:

50G Tank. Well planted and Over filtered with

12 X Neon Tetra
12 X Pristella Tetra
1 X L001
2 X Juvenile Firemouth
2 X Bolivian Ram

Was wondering if anyone could some suggest some more medium to small Cichlids which may be sutible?

The Tetras are in big shoals but will be keeping an eye on the Firemouths to watch for trouble. The FM's are VERY small at the moment. About 1.5".

in my oppinion i would take out the firemouth because i think they might be a little to aggro for the rams,,maybe iam wrong but fro past exsperience of how aggro my firemouth pair were wouldnt want you to take a chance :good:
keyhole cichlids are beautiful and well behaved where as also i here festivums are very good tank mates not aggro,,,,

Cheers. Ive been talking with MW in this thread. Going to keep them together while they are small and then seperate.

Thanks for the suggestions. Im definitely going to look in to Festivums and Keyholes.

Cheers.

Wilde.

I would agree with nelly's whole post. The fm's will grow far bigger than the rams and are much more territorial, especially when breeding. You shald have no prob with keyholes or festivums as both are the kitty-kats of the of the cichlid world IMO.

Kribs wouldn't be a bad idea either though. You could have a pair to compliment your rams :good:

Right

I've Spoken to my LFS. The have Festivums and Kribs and German Rams in.

Was thinking of adding 2 Blue Rams, and a Festivum. Giving me:

50G

12 X Neon Tetra
12 X Pristella Tetra
1 X L001
2 X Juvenile Firemouth (Will be removed before they start causing bother)
2 X Bolivian Ram
2 X Blue Rams
1 X Festivum

Any problems you can see?

Festivums look great! Thanks for the suggestion.

No, as long as there is some good decor to break up the tank territory if two pairs form with your rams, then you should be good :good: Good luck

Cheers Ox.

Will definietly get you a pic of that myserty clam in my Nano this weekend. :good:

haha, ok, sounds good. Just to note too... could be some sort of bivalve that can close up completely and hence make the trip through the lfs to your tank unscathed (I think some species can be closed up for a good amount of time out of the water without ill effect)

i've even seen bolivian rams eat neons so you might want keep an eye on them too. granted it was a very small neon but it did happen :D
