I have a real problem with suspended algae in my coral tank, its getting so annoying I am doing my water change and it has an eheim filter that covers that filters the whole tank in an hour with a carbon pad
Does anyone know how to get rid of it! I cant see my beautiful boys!

Elodea will out compete it
UV light before filtration
Blackout the tank for a few days
Add some algacide (will prevent you from keeping inverts for a while as most contain copper)
Feed less food
Reduce the times the lights are on and move away from a window.

Thanks! what is elodea?

It's a plant :good:

We have major problems too.....it's a constant battle trying to keep the algae at bay!!! Even the tanks that aren't near windows get it and we have the blinds down most of the day to stop daylight getting in. We feel like moles lol

I just popped some moss balls in because I seem to remember they out compete other algae? Ive never had a suspended algae problem before, only growing on ornaments! But you guys are right this tank is near a window...its on a window sill effectively! Ive just put the blind down :good:

I have brown brush algae but I quite like it, also have green dot algae which is a pain surprised all my snails and shrimp don't eat it.
