I hadn't realized there was a wood pigeon's nest in the trumpet vine. The single chick was already big enough to leave the nest today, and it wasn't the least bit bothered by my presence. It had likely grown so accustomed to me because I was frequently out on the balcony without even realizing it was there. It already had its upper plumage, though there was still down underneath, and its long flight feathers were still too short for it to fly.
