and im still around the 2ppm area...... it just seems to be SOOOOOO Slow. almost not moving......

NitrItes have risenonly to about 2ppm..... What might i have done????

Should i do a 100% water change and re add ammonia? or would that be a bad idea??

What are the ammonia, nitrate readings? How fast is ammonia going down?

Both look at about 2ppm i started and it looked about 5ppm on a start week friday ago. and by wedesday i had 2ppm of nitrIte and about 2-3ppm of Ammonia

Now im at 2ppm of each....so not going down fast.

PS. did you mean Nitrate or Nitrite?

I don't really understand, have you tested for nitrAte?
It doesn't seem like the cycle is doing badly, I think it's too early to say, are you using any mature media?
I think cycles can stall if the pH get's too low, maybe test it?

PH has gone up to 7.5
NitrAte is at 20ppm
As Already said Ammonia is down from 5ppm over 8-9 days to 2ppm
NitrIte is up to 2ppm and has sat there for about

You do have a cycle going on there so don't worry. Ammonia going down, nitrIte is going up and there is nitrAte present although that is most likely already in your tap water.

Did you test your tap water for nitrAte before use and you are dechlorinating it? If not, test some straight from the tap now.

When you get to 1ppm of ammonia then top up to 4-5 and test daily. Your nitrItes should start to seriously raise.

All setups are different, my 34 ltr fry tank took 8 weeks in total.

I did test the tap and it tested at 40ppm..... But i retested and its actually 20ppm I think.... My problem is for an ACCURATE result should the Tester be held ON the card so it is the darker shade..... Eitherway. my nitrAtes have not moved.

I cranked up the temp 3 days ago to about 30C to aid the cycle. all i can do is wait a bit more....

I wish i had some mature media.......

What things also increase PH? I have added 4 plants and 2 peices of bogwood and White natural sand...... I thought this should lower it? Reason i ask is i thought a 7-7.2 tank was a better prefered area. Im not too worried as my tap water is there so changes should bring this down again...

Again Thanks All im not feeling so negative about my cycle!!
