Surface Fish

does anyone hav any recommendations on fish that hangot aat the toop of the tank no te middle or bottom.

the only ones i can think of are hatchets

Hatchets are the only fish that I know of that stay at the surface 100%. Hatchets If the food drops more then 1" down they do not even eat or touch the food.

yeah i knew the hatchet fish just wanted to see what else. i will probly get some of those in a month

African Butterfly fish stay at the surface, a long with a few others.

Just as a note to Montizuma:

Archers require brackish water and arowanas are ridiculously expensive and need a fairly big tank.

with some floating plants, USD cats will spend much time at the surface. as it is where they would naturally feed.

yeah i new the arowanas can get HUGE... and i looked and did some reaserch on archers and found the they to can get big and that they need the brakish water

Both very pretty and agile swimmers

yes they do get to the mid ranges for sinking food and all but most of the time they hang up at the surface. their mouth shape is ideal for eating at the top.
