I isolated my one balck mollie as her tail had dissapeared, so she's in a 10 gallon with the frogs, thew in a bit of salt to help her along in healing, and a few days later I go to feed her and see 4 babies!!
I had a suspician that she was pg, but we were told we had two of the same sex. Clearly not.
Well checked this morning and saw 10 or 11 of them.
I put in some extra plants for the fry to hide. How many fry should I expect for a first pregnancy?

Not necessarily, female Mollies can store sperm for up to 6 months. How long have you had her? How do you know it is her first pregnancy? A typical first pregnancy is 20-30 fry but some very young mollies might only have 2-3 (this is very rare). more mature Mollies might have 100+...

Have had her since August... I suppose I was assuming it was her first. Guess it might not be.
I'm pretty sure the other molly is a male though. It was this one I was questioning... guess I know now.
So she may still be dropping... How long does that usually go on for?

wow I would think she would be. I tried putting her in the breeding trap we have but she freaked out, so I just went and got some plants from one of the other tanks so the fry could have lots of hiding spots.
Hopefully she wont eat them.

If you are still unsure about sexing, here's a good chart:

So I saw 8 or 9 this morning. Not sure if some were hiding in the rock or plants or if some haven't made it.

They're a lot bigger than I would have thought.
