i have a 55 gallon tank with 2 penguin 350 bio wheels, 1 bubble stone, fake plants, ceramic caves etc.
stocked with 1 Oscar, 1 pacu, 1 bumblebee cichlid, 1 african synodontis, 1 Common Pleco, 1 convict cichlid. (mind you this is a grow out tank and they are all under 6") i recently added a 5" Jack Dempsey and a day or 2 later the water went completely cloudy white, i cannot see the filters or heater at the back or even see the plants anymore. i can see tiny white specs being moved around by the current from the filter in the fog. my water parameters are all normal, and the aquarium has been running for about 5 months and has been crystal clear before this. how can i fix this? ive been doing more frequent water changes.

What are your ammonia and nitrite readings?

How often do you do maintenance and how do you do it?

Ignoring the fact that your stocking is completely unsuitable for an aquarium that size and some of those can start murdering each other any day now.. the cloudy water was most likely caused by overfeeding or feeding of vegetables. Keep doing water changed, cleaning the filter and reduce feeding a lot at least until it clears up.
